Leading Pro-Life Campaigner: Synod political mess of leftist talking points

Catholics get it I don’t understand why we are having this Youth Synod. I mean, if anyone wanted to hear all these leftist talking points, they would find a political party not the Church that has raised and formed saints for centuries. This is ridiculous!!! https://t.co/FaW6hqdCT3 — Obianuju Ekeocha (@obianuju) October 16, 2018 Honestly this Synod is a complete joke, I am disgusted by it, I think any bishop with any love of the Church should just walk out! So let me try to understand: The Synod is listening to the (uniformed) opinions of "non-Christian youth" so that Catholic leaders can consider adjusting teaching and practice? What other communion attempts such a thing? Do Muslims invite bishops in to help rewrite their teaching? https://t.co/h2r6THa8aR — Raymond Arroyo (@RaymondArroyo) October 15, 2018 There's no reference to Christ, or the Gospel, or anything like that. Real Life Catholics on BBC TV defend Church Teaching on Contraception.

This morning on BBC TV Sunday Morning Live there was a good debate inspired by Melinda Gates (who identifies as Catholic) comments about the pope potentially changing doctrine on contraception. The Catholic contributors were Fr Paddy McCafferty, Clare Short and Obianuju Ekeocha. I think they did really well. Uju's direction is very interesting and easily wrong foots those who want to impose western ideas of morality on Africans in an imperialistic way. Interesting that the presenter agrees with her on this. Fr Paddy gave a great account of his experience as a priest. He was compassionate, realistic and honest, while upholding the value and importance of the doctrine. Clare said she had experience of both ways and the Catholic way is better by far. I thought that was awesome! I especially liked her focus on equality and bringing the responsibility of both husband & wife into the discussion. Watch out for the bit where the other lady says "Pope Francis has ind...

SPUC Youth Conference 2015

Mikey relaxing in anticipation of the brain food he was about to ingest. It is so wonderful to be a father. Every stage of parenthood is different and with a sixteen and a eighteen year old at the top end of the family age group, I find myself challenged regularly as they form their ideas and test them against the logic and reason in my arguments. I think this helps me grow as a person as well as facilitating a constant development of ideas against new and sometimes challenging perspectives and scenarios. Of course, not everything they encounter is new and innovative and often the discussion will revolve around perennial problems and issues we are all familiar with. This weekend one of my boys dragged me along to a Pro-life conference where we both tested our knowledge and understanding of some of the most important issues we face in society today. So I write this as I have just returned from Southport and the SPUC (the Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child) 2015 Youth ...
