The gay inmates are running the asylum

This is really important from Steve Skojec. The 45 year old abuse case against Cardinal McCarrick has brought an important point back to light: the abuse crisis in the Church is largely a homosexual problem, and the gay inmates are running the asylum. There's no way around it, and the more we ignore it, the worse it gets.

Gosport - In The Vacuum of Catholic Teaching, One Man Stands Alone

Image
Shockingly, at Gosport hospital it has been revealed that Dr Jane Barton has been implicated in the deaths of 656 patients. A report has now been published which describes an institutionalised practice and urges police to act. The Times has a good article on the scandal here  (behind a paywall unfortunately), but it does say: Caroline Farrow made this very apposite comment on Facebook: "650 people were killed prematurely in Gosport Memorial hospital. 650 people. Junior whistleblowers silenced for their impudence. Difficult patients bumped off. These were the actual findings of the enquiry. Yet because the patients were elderly, no-one seems all that bothered. Certainly the authorities aren’t interested in prosecution and the legal system complicit in protecting Dr Jane Barton. The culture was rotten. Why are we assuming that this was confined to Gosport. Especially when we hear that the syringe drivers were known to be hazardous & linked with fatal overd

Pope's Intercommunion "hokey-pokey" on the Plane

Image
First he is in, then he is out, then he is in again, now he shakes it all about. Many of us dread the papal plane comments now. Yesterday, June 21st, during an in-flight news conference, the pope was asked about his recent decision requesting the Catholic bishops’ conference of Germany not publish nationwide guidelines for allowing Communion for such couples. Carol Glatz at CNS reports that in response he said the guidelines went beyond what is foreseen by the Code of Canon law “and there is the problem.” The code does not provide for nationwide policies, he said, but “provides for the bishop of the diocese (to make a decision on each case), not the bishops’ conference.” “This was the difficulty of the debate. Not the content,” he said saying it will have to be studied more. He said he believed what could be done is an “illustrative” type of document “so that each diocesan bishop could oversee what the Code of Canon Law permits. There was no stepping on the brakes,” he said

Equality and Relativism

I am watching VIKINGS on Prime at the moment. I've just watched the second season of The Last Kingdom and really enjoyed it, VIKINGS seemed like an appropriate follow on. In both series, unsurprisingly, religion plays a major part and this has been a growing irritation for me, largely because whoever is behind both stories seem to be almost completely religiously illiterate, quelle surprise ! In The Last Kingdom, religion is portrayed as some sort of pious rouse used to foster self-importance and manipulate "the little people". No one really believes it, it has no value and the Norse "sky-faeries" are as useless as the Christian one ultimately. Alfred the Great is portrayed as a sort of religious fool, wasting his time in prayer when he could be doing far more useful things, like the hero of the series Uhtred of Bebbanburg . Uhtred is called "the godless" and, raised by Danes, a Pagan. He heroically, has no time for Christianity yet displays al

THE CATHOLIC RESTORATION

Image
Tired of apologizing for being Catholic? Sick of every other religion in the world being praised while yours is condemned? Weary of hearing about the rights of man, with no thought given to the rights of God and His Church? Done with CINOs (Catholics In Name Only)? Here's the answer. On Pentecost weekend in France, nearly 20,000 Catholics from all over the world--of every race and color, men and women, old and young--came together to worship God, to honor Our Lady and to send a message to the world: the anti-Catholic revolution has failed! We're back, we're here to stay and we're not apologizing for being proud Catholic soldiers of Jesus Christ. The Catholic counterrevolution is in full swing, and it's a youth movement. All for the greater honor and glory of Almighty God. Viva Cristo Rey! Vive le Christ Roi! Long live Christ the King! Archbishop Cordileone: "it is actually the hard way out that is the most effective evangelizing strategy"

Image

CNA reports on the symposium in Kansas stating that the promise of the sexual revolution and contraception was total sexual freedom for everyone. “Sex is for fun and now women can have just as much fun without the consequences,” Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco said about the claims of the sexual revolution in a recent talk. “That was the cry of the day, and yet somehow it didn’t work out that way,” he said. What went wrong? It’s a question that the archbishop and other presenters attempted to answer at a symposium on Humanae Vitae and the New Evangelization at Benedictine College in Kansas this past weekend. Cordileone was one of four featured keynote speakers, along with Dr. Janet Smith from Sacred Heart Major Seminary; Dr. Brad Wilcox, director of the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia; and Dr. Je

Cain's Wife - Literal Inerrancy of Genesis

Image
This post was inspired by a discussion between two of my Catenian brothers at a meeting on Monday about the literal truth of the Genesis narrative, I know my brother John sometimes reads my blog, so John if you're reading this--it's inspired by you! Also the first reading at Mass this morning made this doubly pertinent. So the basis of this post is the teaching that the only way that the earth could have been populated was for the children of Adam and Eve to marry each other. God would have protected them from the consequences of this intermarriage so that the human race could be propagated. It is defined Church teaching that all humans are descended from the single pair, Adam and Eve. The Papal Encyclical of Pope Pius XII  Humani Generis , promulgated in 1950 teaches that the question of the origin of the human body is open to research by natural scientists and theologians. The pope insists on the careful weighing of the pros and cons of the grounds for its orig

German Intercommunion Plans Scrapped

Image
You may recall this from April 19th, when it emerged that the Vatican had rejected the German Bishops’ Proposal for intercommunion for Protestant spouses. The same day German bishops denied that the Vatican had rejected the German Protestant Communion plan issuing a statement saying the reports are “false”. ++Luis Ladaria Prefect for the CDF Today, Vaticanista Sandro Magister reproduces a letter from Archbishop Luis Ladaria, the prefect of the CDF, to the German bishops written and sent “with the explicit approval of the pope,” blocking the publication of the document of the German bishops that ignited the controversy and reassigns the question to a more mature reflection at the level of the “universal” Church and of ecumenical relations with other Churches, apart from the Protestants, basically, saying that this decision is bigger than one bishop's conference. It is very interesting considering the document (which says how and when to allow communion for Protes
