The Kensington Markathon

My friend Marie-Claire has just told me about this wonderful initiative for the Year of Faith she is running in her parish. It's such a good idea I have already approached Fr. Kevin to see if we could perhaps do something similar in our own parish. I remember when we were studying Paul together, our lecturer suggested we should try and read the epistles from beginning to end, as this is how they were supposed to be read/ heard. Reading Galatians really changed my perspective on what the letter was all about, and so this seems like a really fabulous idea to me! Here are the details if you fancy attending:

THE KENSINGTON
‘MARKATHON’
Have you ever wondered what it was like...
… to have experienced the full impact of Pentecost?
… the first proclamations of the Gospel message?
        ... to have heard Peter’s Spirit-filled words?
            Did you know
that the Gospels were written long after Pentecost?
that Mark wrote his Gospel to preserve Peter's teaching and encourage the Christians suffering persecution in Rome?
that it would have been read out in its entirety?
what would it have been like?
Come and find out…
… experience the whole of Mark’s concise,
fast-paced Gospel and let the Holy Spirit ignite your heart!

Where: Our Lady of Victories Church, 235a Kensington High Street, London W8
