In it Dr Gavin Ashenden speaks to the veteran Catholic journalist Edward Pentin and attempts to get to the bottom of just what is going on in the lead up to October's Synod. Pentin says "We have never had a pope who has impinged on doctrine in the way this pope has" confirming what we already know about the belligerent, arrogant Argentinian Pontiff. This is a picture of me outside Saint John Cantius Church in North Carpenter Street, Chicago with Fr. Ryan Brady. Brady has been ordained for just 2 years but that after discerning the priesthood for a long period of time. He joined the Seminary then left and worked in Catholic charities, before discerning the truth of his vocation and returning to finish his studies and was ordained on May 19th, 2021 at the 12:30 pm Mass celebrated by Cardinal Blase Cupich. His first Mass at St. Christina parish on the Southside took place on May 23rd, 2021.  We were introduced to Fr. Brady at another beautiful Chicago Church: St Mary of the Angels  and we were all struck by his charisma and also his knowledge and obvious love of Chicago, as well as, most importantly, the city's Catholic history and character. Some really good news from yesterday, Dr Gavin Ashenden was received into full communion with the Catholic Church by Bishop Mark Davies of Shrewsbury Diocese. Gavin is someone I have posted about quite a few times in the past ( just do a search ). The way the world works now I have been able to be a friend on Social Media of his and to follow his efforts to speak out about the immense value of Christianity in building culture. He is a brave & convinced disciple of Jesus Christ and it is very exciting to me to see him come into full communion with the Catholic Church. I have said to Gavin myself that we need him. We need his calm, reasoned approach and his courage to stand up for what the Church teaches. I am sure that, were the Church more confident in what it stands for and teaches, it would be ever more attractive to committed disciples like Gavin. The Royal Wedding sermon did some real good: it gave us a base line for what it completely vapid and useless. I love Gavin Ashenden I truly do. He is gentle and softly spoken, but quite prepared to identify problems and those who contradict what is good and true and right. He has utter conviction & is able to articulate with absolute clarity what he is passionate about & why! This is what a bishop should be: a teacher, someone utterly committed to Christ and prepared to explain what that means in today's mad world!

Gavin Ashenden brings some much needed clarity to the culture wars raging in our society at the moment in this short interview. Lucidly joining the dots, he shows what is really behind the bizarre anti-family agendas that seem to have gained so much favour in our society so quickly. He also explains with great clarity, why this is such a problematic path for society to travel. Ashenden was an Honorary Chaplain to the Queen from 2008 until his resignation in 2017. He was ordained in the Church of England, but left it in 2017. That year was consecrated a missionary bishop by the Christian Episcopal Church , a continuing Anglican jurisdiction outside of the Anglican Communion . A number of friends have drawn my attention to Melanie Phillips' article above which addresses the crazy news coming out of the Church of England at the moment regarding the ever pernicious and aggressive transgender agenda. This is further to a "bullying Guidance" document released to CofE schools, which, much like the disgraceful Catholic Education Service document released recently, purports to be about stopping bullying whilst actually being a tool to further a clear anti-Christian agenda with the most impressionable children.
