Leading evangelical quits Church of England leadership over ‘heresy’

Image
Premier reports that prominent Church of England evangelical Lorna Ashworth has left the Archbishops’ Council in protest over what she described a "revisionist agenda" and “heretical teaching”. Ashworth resigned yesterday over the Church’s increasingly relaxed approach to gay couples. She is one of a number of signatories who put their names to an open letter sent to the Telegraph in July , warning that the Church had "capitulated to secular values". In the past, she has spoken out against women bishops and gay marriage and in her letter of resignation, she is said to have stated:  “I refuse to be mistaken as one participating in the fanciful notion of ‘good disagreement’”. "In light of this revisionist agenda and the heretical teaching that comes with it, I am no longer willing to sit around the table, pretending that we, as a governing body of the Church of England, are having legitimate conversations about mission". Civil War in the Church of England

Archbishop Nicholas Okoh and Bishop Susan Goff Those well meaning groups who seek to modify what they consider to be harsh and unkind teachings of the Catholic Church ( see this amusing, satirical take on it ) may find it enlightening to take a cool, calm look at our ecumenical brothers and sisters in the Church of England (CoE). The CoE contains several doctrinal strands, the main three known as Anglo-catholic, Evangelical and Liberal or Broad Church (for more detail on this see here ). This parting of the ways was mainly caused by the decision of the CoE Synod in 1992 to permit the ordination of women to the priesthood (and later to the episcopate). Many Anglo-catholics felt that they could no longer accept the CoE’s claim to be in organic, doctrinal and historical con...

Michael Voris- The New Church

Image
Michael Voris has finally admitted that there is a "new" Catholic Church emerging. Has he finally capitulated to modernism? Has he decided that progress is, after all, inevitable? He explains all about the new emerging Church in his latest Vortex episode. Travelling around the world, meeting and speaking with groups of faithful Catholics has given him excellent insight into what is going on inside the Church all around the globe: As I have said before, I think Voris is a bit like a modern day Old Testament prophet. His message is often really uncomfortable, but his focus is always about supernatural faith, against error, and for God and His Church. His articulation of the concerns of so many who contact me: the confounding of the orthodox, the lauding of heterodox by Church establishment, the apathy of bishops, the way that being good, and loyal, and faithful- supporting more reverence and catechesis, only seems to get you into lots of hot water with the diocese.
